Connect your agent

Connect the coding agents on your computer to Origin: use Origin Kit to set up models and platform tools in one place, or add the Origin MCP address to any MCP client.

Origin Kit is a settings tool: after you sign in to Origin, it changes the native configuration of each agent you choose so the agent calls Origin's model gateway (https://api.origingame.ai) directly with this device's credential, and adds Origin MCP to it. Kit only changes the agents you choose; it relays no requests and listens on no port.

Origin MCP needs nothing installed. The steps for each client are in Origin MCP.

How to choose

  • You only need the platform tools (generate assets, publish games, read data): use Origin MCP. Adding one address is enough; you don't need Kit.
  • You want agents to use Origin's models and be charged to your Origin balance, or you want to set up several agents at once: use Origin Kit.
  • You work in a terminal with Claude Code, Codex or Grok: the one-line installer can configure Origin MCP, see Command line.
  • You'd rather not use a terminal, or you're on Windows: use Origin Kit.

Supported agents

This is every agent Origin Kit can configure. "Origin models" means Kit can point the agent at Origin's models; agents marked "Own models" use their own models and can only add MCP. In the MCP column, "browser sign-in" means Kit writes the address only and the agent opens the browser for you to sign in to Origin; "device credential" means Kit writes this device's credential into the configuration and the agent connects after a restart.

Kit lists only the agents installed on this computer; install a new agent, then come back to Kit to see it.

Install Origin Kit

Download the build for your computer from the download page, then:

  1. Open Kit. macOS: unzip the download, drag Origin Kit.app into Applications and open it from there (the app is signed and notarized by Apple). Windows: the download is a portable .exe with nothing to install; move it to a folder you'll keep, then run it. It needs the WebView2 Runtime (included with Windows 10/11).
  2. Choose "Sign in with Origin" and approve in the browser. Back in Kit, the "Agents" page lists the agents on this computer.
  3. On the "Agents" page, find the agent, pick an Origin model in the model menu on its row, then restart that agent. Agents marked "Own models" skip this step.
  4. Open the "MCP" page and choose "Configure" next to the agent. Restart the agent; agents marked "browser sign-in" ask you to sign in to Origin in the browser.

An agent's model picker offers the models GET /v1/models lists for your account on the interface that agent speaks. Calls are charged to your Origin balance at each model's price; the balance is on Kit's "Account" page and on the website's usage page. When a new version is out, an "Update" button appears at the top of Kit.

What Kit writes and how to undo it

  • Models: Kit writes Origin's endpoint and this device's credential into the agent's own configuration, the same way the agent keeps any other provider key. For agents that read a key only from their environment, Kit gives a launch command that fills in the credential at start, so it is in no file.
  • MCP: Kit writes only its own origin entry into the agent's MCP configuration and leaves the rest as it is.
  • Undo: Kit keeps what it replaced. "More → Disconnect from Origin" on an agent's row puts back what the agent had before; "Remove Kit's entry" on the "MCP" page deletes only Kit's entry.
  • Changed by something else: if another program later rewrites the agent's configuration, Kit shows the difference and you can choose "Set again" or keep it.
  • Sign out: revokes this device's credential, disconnects every agent Kit connected (each gets its own settings back) and removes Kit's MCP entries.
Note: a configured MCP entry means the entry was added; the connection works once the agent actually shows Origin's tools.

Moving from the older Kit

The older Kit pointed agents at 127.0.0.1:3435 on your computer. The new Kit's "Agents" page lists every configuration that still names it: "Move to Origin" keeps the same model where Origin serves it and calls Origin directly; "Restore" puts back what the agent had before the older Kit. Third-party providers and subscription accounts kept by the older Kit are not moved; add a key under your own keys instead.

Your own keys

Under "Your own keys" in Kit you can add your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Google key as a private channel on your account, and replace or revoke it at any time. A key is write-only and never shown again; Kit shows only its metadata. Only those three providers' official endpoints are supported; configure custom endpoints and local models in the agent itself, Kit does not proxy them.

Manage signed-in devices

Every computer signed in with Kit or the installer holds its own revocable credential. On the Access page:

  • "Signed-in devices" lists the device sign-ins of Kit and the installer; revoke each one separately.
  • "Connected apps" lists the agents that signed in to Origin MCP through the browser, with their permissions and last use.

Revoking one leaves your other devices, other agents and your account API token untouched.
