Use Origin to generate a 16:9 pixel-art forest level background, then a main character portrait on a transparent background
Set up several agents at once
curl -fsSL https://origingame.ai/install.sh | sh For macOS, Linux and WSL terminals. Claude Code and Codex get the URL only and sign in themselves; Grok uses the installer’s device sign-in.
FAQ
Do I need an API key?
No. Agents with browser sign-in (OAuth) get the URL only and open Origin’s sign-in page on first use; signing in issues short-lived tokens the agent renews itself. Only for agents without browser sign-in do the installer or Kit set up a revocable device credential.
How does pricing work?
Connecting Origin MCP and publishing games are free. Generating images, audio, video and 3D is charged to your Origin balance at each model’s price; see it under Usage, or ask your agent “how much Origin balance do I have left?”.
The sign-in page didn’t open. What now?
Start it by hand with step 2 for your agent: /mcp then Authenticate in Claude Code, codex mcp login origin for Codex, Connect in Cursor’s MCP settings. If it still fails, check that your default browser opens origingame.ai and update the agent to its latest version.
Does it work on Windows?
Yes. The steps above work on Windows too (for VS Code use the one-click install button). The installer needs a macOS, Linux or WSL terminal; if you’d rather skip the terminal, use Origin Kit.
How do I revoke access?
Agents that signed in through the browser appear under Access › Connected apps with their permissions and last use; clients set up with the installer’s device sign-in (such as Grok) appear under Signed-in devices. Revoking one leaves your other agents and your account API token untouched.
How is Origin MCP different from Origin Kit?
Origin MCP brings the platform’s tools (assets, generation, publishing) into your agent with one URL. Origin Kit is a desktop app that writes Origin MCP for several agents at once and can also point them at Origin’s models and add your own keys. If you only want the tools, MCP is enough.
